Qualifications
I am an Accredited and Registered Member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and adhere to their ethics and code of safe practice; I am also listed on the BACP register for Counsellors and Psychotherapists. I qualified from the University of Hertfordshire in 2007 with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Psychodynamic and Person-Centred Counselling.
I also have training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and integrate these theories into my practice. I have training in Safeguarding/Child Protection, along with a current DBS police check, and am fully insured.

Clinical experience
I have been working in private practice for many years, and previously within the NHS and I have extensive experience with issues such as anxiety, drug and alcohol addiction, domestic abuse, eating disorders and childhood sexual abuse. I also have many years experience of working with bereavement and loss, having worked in a hospice for a number of years with bereaved families.
I have a specialist interest in neurodiversity, supporting clients with Autism and ADHD, in addition to their family members/carers. Working with the charity Mencap for over 17 years supporting families and carers of children with learning disabilities, has given me a good understanding of the daily struggles that people on the spectrum, along with their families and siblings, often have to cope with.
I am a registered and approved Provider with BUPA, AXA PPP, Vitality Health, Aviva and Simplyhealth insurance companies.
